Week of April 15 // Quirky Paper Co.
Vancouver, BC

Meet Cheryl Loh of Quirky Paper Co.!

Quirky Paper Co. is a line of offbeat, cheeky, and cute greeting cards and paper goods, based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Our collection aims to inspire joy, connection, and celebration in everyday life by blending a cheeky sense of humour with a fun and playful approach to design.

Do any of your products support a nonprofit?
I support the non-profit Kiva, which helps to crowdfund loans for individuals who otherwise may not be able to have access to loans. I feel very fortunate to get the opportunity to pursue a creative career, and so I love that through Kiva, I can support other women around the world who are also starting businesses.

How did you start Quirky Paper Co.?
While I have been making cards throughout my childhood, Quirky Paper Co. was started as a fun hobby while working full-time in graphic design. I had always wanted to attend a craft fair, and still had materials left over from creating cards in the past, and so I signed up and got busy making. I realized how excited and passionate I was about it that I continued on the journey to grow the business into what it is today.

What’s the best part about being an entrepreneur?
To have the freedom to determine what projects I’d like to work on and how I’d like to spend each day.

If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be?
Gretchen Rubin - I have really enjoyed and learned so much from her books, and love her podcast too!

Favorite way to kick back and relax?
Get cozy on the couch, light a candle, get a big cup of tea, and dive into a book.

Favorite animal?
Dogs - I have loved every dog that has been a part of my life and love all their funny quirks, unique personalities, and overall just how cute they all are!

Favorite food?
I love a thin crust pizza, and some of my favourite toppings include prosciutto, arugula, red peppers, and nut cheese! In Vancouver, some of my favourite places for pizza are Don’t Argue, Corduroy Pie Co., and Virtuous Pie.
